We are seeking a full-time patient collector stationed out of our corporate office in Calabasas, CA to oversee collections and A/R for our physical therapy practices.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Follow up with insurance companies regarding unpaid, denied, or rejected claims via phone or onlineAnswer calls and questions from patients regarding payments and their individual accountsAccept and processing patient payments over the phone or from the patient portalsUpdate and maintain patient demographicsCommunicate with department leads regarding any related billing issues such as denied claims, trends, Worker’s Compensation, and liensRequest Explanations of Benefits from insurance companies as needed for unpaid claimsProvide chart notes when requested by insurance companies, attorneys, or other entities after viewing release of information requirementsCorrespond with billers and office staff regarding patient information to ensure all demographic and other data is accurate and complete before claims are filedPerform other duties as delegatedRequired Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of medical billing, accounts receivable, and/or collecting experience preferredComprehensive working knowledge of Electronic Health Record systemsWorking knowledge of different insurance plans, providers, and industry standards, laws, guidelines, and regulationsExtensive knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10, CPT, and HCPSC coding preferredComputer and typing skills (e.g. Excel and Word, and standard industry software)Ability to learn new computer programs and softwareAbility to keep confidential information secure via set HIPAA standards and guidelinesMust be bilingual in English and SpanishBenefits: Holiday pay, accrued PTO, Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits offered!We are a smoke-free campus.
