Immediate opening for a very experienced (5-10 years) work comp. legal assistant, with actual law office experience, on the APPLICANTS' (injured workers) side, and ideally, with some experience handling "sworn" (police and fire) cases. Non-smokers only. Must live no more than an hour from Pasadena, preferably closer. Bi-lingual skills NOT required. Must have excellent command of English, including diction, pronunciation, grammar and writing skills.Extensive communication with clients and other parties, and must be able to handle a heavy caseload, use judgement and independent thinking, along with initiative and creativity to resolve problems. Must be proficient with usual programs such as Wordperfect or Word, as well as Abacus, and have good transcription skills, typing at least 75-80 wpm. Strong people skills required for this job!Must be able to work under pressure, multi-task, and be part of a very cohesive team working together to assist injured police, fire, and sheriff clients, and the families of those killed in the line of duty.
