Role: System EngineerLocation: Woodland Hills, CADuration: Full TimeSalary: Highly Competitive Job DescriptionSetup and maintain Windows Server 2008 - 2012 R2Racking and cabling server and networking hardware.Manage IT Service Desk support for incident and problem management.Assists in setting technical direction for architecture of company, server, network, e-mail, security, database, and web hardware, software, and communications strategy.Assists in maintaining backups in production and in disaster recovery site.Planning, prepare and maintain storage resources, systems, proactive maintenance.Sets up and maintains alternate data processing sites and work-arounds during outage situations.Develops documentation, user manuals, and policy and procedure information for storage/systems/applications architecture.Create a project strategy plan for deployments, structure a production environment, DR and end user.Report to management daily on project status, deployment results and daily operations.Essential SkillsExperience with HP 3PAR or another storage product.Previous project experience – Architecture planning, systemsActive Directory - User management, computer account administration, permissions, DFS sharesVirtual Machine administration: VMWare / HyperVKnowledge of Network infrastructure, protocols (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, VPN, etc.)Act as a Systems Administrator in evaluating, recommending, setting up, configuring, and documenting server and specialized hardware and software products. Set up and maintain infrastructure hardware and monitoring software. Research, test, and compare new products.Provides technical assistance to technical services, development staff, project consultants, and support personnel in other departments.Perform feasibility analysis and evaluate potential solutions.Prepare reports, documentation and plans for design and system, enhancements.Handle pressure from operational problems.Building servers: RAM, CPU, monitoring, OS, hardware requirementsQualifications5+ Years of ExperienceBachelor’s Degree or Certification w/ work experience in related fieldAbility to work independently and as a team playerOccasionally Travel – Drive to Downtown Los Angeles and Las Vegas.Good communications and written skills (experience in writing procedures).Physical Requirements and working conditions:Perform work which involves the frequent lifting, pushing and/or pulling of objects which may approximate 50.
