Large aerospace subcontractor seeks a Visual inspector for the 1st shift. this position can be an entry level opportunity for the right candidate. $10-$11 per hour DOE.
SUMMARY Performs visual inspection of forgings and completes part marking under constant supervision.
Performs final surface inspection of forged parts prior to shipment to customer.
Applies identification to products per instructions.
Conditions surface of parts as needed.
Sets up and operates marking equipment.
Moves heavy parts with forklift or crane.
Operates hand grinding machine and observes operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction.
Changes wheels and parts as trained.
Measures part dimensions to determine accuracy of grinding operation.
Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from part.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and other Company employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
