Aerospace Manufacturing company seeks for Precision Grinder to work 2nd shift.
Operate a grinding machine to grind product parts by following established setup methods and operational sequences and using production tooling.
Operate a universal or surface grinding machine to perform grinding operations on product parts where setup methods, operational sequences and production tooling have been determined by grinding shop practice. Follow verbal instructions or detailed information from blueprints or layout sheets to perform basic product grinding operations. Includes a common knowledge of required hand tools and equipment, and a basic knowledge of safety practices, conduct, cleanliness, good housekeeping and equipment care.
Perform various predetermined product grinding machine startup operations not performed by setup operator. Shape face of grinding wheel, mount grinding wheel or holding fixtures. Secure work using production tooling or holding devices, or set speeds, feeds and depth of cut when required.
Start or stop product grinding machine, and perform maintenance oiling operations to keep machine in proper operating condition.
Grind product part straight sides, single angles, and flat surfaces. Maintain standard production rate on any product parts where dimensions and finishes must be held by close attention and directed effort of operator when making minor machine and tool adjustments.
Check product parts for correct dimensions and finish during grinding using preset or fixed precision measuring instruments. Recognize improper machine setup or grinding wheel action, and report trouble for corrective action. Maintain machine production records.
Work cooperatively with senior operator, following a normal amount of guidance and instruction, to perform work at a higher level of difficulty such as, setup and operate a grinding machine to machine product parts where setup methods and standard tooling have been determined by grinding shop practice.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
