Position/Title: Assembler/Mechanic
Number of openings: 2
Status: Temporary
Assignment duration: 1 month, possibly longer
Start date: asap
1st shift: 5:00am – 1:30pm
Overtime required? some
Position Summary: Under general supervision, assemble/disassemble single and multi-stage centrifugal pumps; may also assist with setting up pumps for testing, and perform a variety of other tasks such as machining, turning, boring, grinding/deburring, painting, and providing general assistance to other assemblers/mechanics, including organizing, housekeeping, and other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead persons. Activities require safe and proper use of a variety of hand tools, power and pneumatic tools, cranes and rigging equipment, and forklifts.
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; Trade School Certificate or Technical Degree a plus
Experience: Minimum 2 years experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment performing the tasks above and using most if not all tools/equipment listed above. Supervisory experience a plus. Experience in the pump industry a plus.
Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience/misc.:
Must have steel-toe safety shoes and reliable transportation
Must commit to good attendance and be willing to work a lot of overtime when needed
Forklift experience a must; current certification required
Clean safety record with past employers and keen safety awareness
Working knowledge of Outlook email, MS Office programs, and internet a plus
