What we are looking for: We are looking for an exceptional leader to help develop and run our Los Angeles, California office. Primary responsibilities will be to manage the Customs team, work with the sales department to generate new business, and strengthen relationships and services with existing customers.Reporting to the Vice President of Internal Operations, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations and long-term growth of the Los Angeles Customs/Import Department including:Growing revenue through increased market share with existing customers and new customers by working very closely with the sales and operational team to, “make it happen”Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers through professional and timely communicationsProviding effective problem solving with customers and suppliers as necessary to keep within the high service standards established by senior management.Providing mentorship and support for a team of 15-20 employees to assist in their professional growth through communication of clear goals and objectivesEnsuring all direct reports have the training, tools, and resources necessary to do their jobs effectively and correctlyProviding continuous coaching and feedback and supporting employees in their developmentEnsuring any other or future job requirements are fulfilled in an effective & timely mannerSolve and Teach any issue as it relates to Customs and Import Ability to think creatively and independentlyPosition Requirements:BA/BS or equivalent preferredMinimum of 7 years of work experience in freight forwarding/customs brokerage fieldMinimum of 4 years of management experienceSignificant Customs Broker background and/or LicenseMust have excellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated motivational and team-building skillsIf you feel your skills and experience match the above requirements and you are prepared to meet the challenges, please apple and attach your resume along with you compensation expectations.
