POSITION OBJECTIVE The Residential Personal Service Coordinator II is responsible for overseeing the planning and provision of groups, activities and learning/work experiences for those residing in the casa. Linkage to community based programs, whenever possible, is also expected. The Residential PSC II works as a member of the residential/treatment team and contributes to the assessment of each individual, development of Individual Plans, documentation of progress and coordination/ linkage to outside healthcare providers. As needed, the individual assists with the day to day functioning of the casa and cooks, cleans and assists clients in self care activities. In addition, assisting clients in familiarizing them to community based agencies and activities to enhance the quality of their life and to help them achieve their personal hopes and dreams. QUALIFICATIONS -Two years of direct service experience working with the mentally ill preferred -Bachelors degree in a related healthcare or human service field is required -Sensitivity to multi-cultural populations and issues is required -The ability to read, write and speak English is required. Bi-lingual skills preferred -Necessary skills include knowledge of adult psychiatric disorders, primarily Major depression, Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar Disorder and DSMIV Axis II disorders. Required to observe and assess client behavior and intervene when necessary with behavioral or skill development choices. -Develops and revises service plans as necessary and expected to quantify behavioral change and document client progress and goal attainment -Must have valid California driver's license, a DMV clearance for insurability -Necessary skills include: the ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, a thorough understanding of client rights, an understanding the conservatorship process and Ventura County system of care -Skills in motivational interviewing and DBT preferred -Applicant must be fingerprinted and receive clearance from the Department of Justice -Must have completed first aid and CPR training or obtain certification within orientation period -Must have basic proficiency in using a computer for word processing and e-mail communication Telecare Corporation is fully committed to a strong equal opportunity program .
