Description:
We are now hiring qualified, responsible, and proactive tutors to start in early December 1st; training will take place in EARLY NOVEMBER (the 6th and 9th).

ABOUT US:
We are an SES provider and we work with children who receive free tutoring under the federal No Child Left Behind program. All tutoring is conducted on a one-on-one basis, and tutors schedule all sessions based on their availability. Our goal is to help students develop the skills they need in order to achieve higher scores on their California Standards Tests (CSTs).

ABOUT POSITION:
*This is a part-time position that will extend from December 1st through May 31st.
*Tutors' schedules depend on their availability and the areas in which they can work
*Tutors will work with students in kinder-12th grade, primarily in English/Language Arts and math
* Tutoring sessions occur at the student's home or a public library
* Tutoring sessions take place Monday - Friday during after-school hours (usually from 3pm to 8pm), and Saturday and Sunday (between 8am to 8pm).

REQUIREMENTS:
* Should have one year of recent experience tutoring or working with children
*Must be "Live Scan" fingerprinted by a private "Live Scan" operator for our company. The scan cost will be out-of-pocket and will not be reimbursed. No Exceptions!
*Must provide proof of a negative TB test result taken within the last 3 years.
*Must have reliable transportation and valid car insurance
*BA degree preferred, but some candidates with at least 48 college credits will be considered. Candidate must be able to provide transcripts.

Bilingual (SPANISH/ENGLISH) tutors highly encouraged to apply!

AREA:
We are looking for tutors who live in, work in, or can easily travel to Los Angeles (i.e. SFV, West LA, East LA, and South Bay areas).
We DO NOT compensate for travel or prep time.
