Job OverviewKIPP LA Schools is seeking after school instructors for the 2015-2016 school year. Afterschool Instructors will provide academic assistance and enrichment programming to students. The Afterschool Instructor reports to the Afterschool Site Coordinator. We are especially looking for ASP instructors who lead:Recreational SportsMultimedia (photography, video editing/directing)Art (painting, drawing, DYI)Dance and/or CheerVisual/performing arts/ theatherRoboticsYearbook, school newspaperResponsibilities may include but are not limited to:Direct ServiceProvide academic assistance, intervention support, and recreational programming within small student groups and in whole class settings;Develop, create and implement academic, recreational, and enrichment activities;Supervise assigned students to ensure that students are safe and the program operates in an organized and effective manner;Support and aid classroom teachers as assigned;Assist with event planning;Data Collection & ReportingMaintain daily attendance records;Enter accurate and timely attendance data into data management system;Ensure timely completion and submission of all relevant data including early release forms, evaluations from students, and progress data as requestedReport on student progress and behaviorTrainingAttend weekly or monthly school based staff meetings/trainings;Participate in trainings offered by school site and regional office;Attend all additional required meetingsTime CommitmentCommit to a regular shift during the instructional year from M-F 2:30pm - 6:00pmQualificationsMinimum of AA degree or two years of coursework at an institution of higher learning requiredPrior experience working with groups of elementary or middle school students in an academic or recreational setting strongly preferredAbility to lead groups of students in activities while placing a high priority on safetyAbility to work independently and with a teamAbility to work effectively with teachers, parents, and studentsCreativity and sense of humorPositive energy and the ability to be a strong role model for studentsReliable transportation or transportation planAbility to plan, design and implement lesson plansBilingual a plus (English/Spanish)Unquestioned integrity and commitment to the mission of KIPP LA SchoolsSalary and Hours This position has a rate of $12-13/hour depending on experience.Start Date: ImmediateTo ApplyPlease visit http://kippcareers.force.com/JobDetail?id=a0Xd00000062Xvl to complete a job application.
