Senior Mechanical Engineer - AerospaceJob DescriptionDesign and development of Motion Control Devices (Brush & Brushless DC Motors, AC Induction Motors, Stepper Motors, Resolvers) for Space, Military, Aerospace, and Oil and Gas applications.Provide engineering technical support and design for projects e.g. part design (shafts, housings, etc.), bearing and lubrication selection, reviewing customer specification, support and/or lead customer design reviews (PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR)Perform structural and thermal analysis (by calculation and Finite Element Analysis) and present to internal and external customers.Create CAD models/drawings, perform tolerance and GD&T analysis, review and approve drawings.Assist with conception, development, and implementing manufacturing processes. Technically document procedures and processes.Collaborate with purchasing, production, quality, contract management, and outside vendors to set and meet schedules and accommodate other customer requirements.Conduct root cause analysis and propose corrective actions for continuous improvement and for resolutions to design or manufacturing problems.Make capital equipment recommendationsPerform other assignments as required.Travel as necessary per customers needs Skills & QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of design, manufacturing, assembly and test processes together with work measurement and work standards.Design background of electromechanical motors and or resolver technology including their components highly desiredExpertise of 3D solid modeling software required, SolidWorks is preferred.Experience with finite element analysis software, SolidWorks Simulation preferredProficient in technical writing, good documentation skills; attention to detail is critical; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings required.Demonstrated analytical expertise including ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities.Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business.Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis assignments, troubleshooting and problem-solving.Flexible with high energy, able to handle multiple tasks smoothly.Experience with harmonic drive, planetary, and spur gear boxes is a plusPrior experience with an ISO-9000 AS-9000 environment is a plus. BS in Mechanical Engineering.MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar preferred.Professional Engineering license is not required but is a plus.7+ years’ experience in engineering functions consistent with the specific position requirements.Must be US Person
