Basset Hound - Elden - Medium - Adult - Male - Dog
Are you there God? It’s me, Elden, the 6-year-old male basset hound.
I like belly rubs, running, going for walks and people. I hate loneliness, neglect, being unwanted and feeling sad.
I’ve lost one eye due to glaucoma and we aren’t yet sure if the other one can be saved. It’s ok though, because lately my eyes have seen too much pain and heartbreak. I’ve seen my owner unable to care for me due to her health issues. I’ve seen myself no longer being allowed in the house, even though I’m house-trained. I’ve even seen a family member talk about sending me to heaven early because no one wanted me.
Luckily I was sent to BHRSC to be saved. The promise of a new family to love me, a warm bed inside the house and a forever home are a dream come true for me. It’s my time now – and I deserve it. I’m a living, loving being with feelings and emotions and know that my future will hold only love and respect. Thank heavens!
The eye thing really isn’t a big deal because I listen with my ears, know the world by my nose and love with my heart (and waggy tail and wiggly butt and sloppy kisses).
If you are there God, please send me an angel to adopt me and love me forever. Love, Elden.
