  • PURPOSE OF ROLL: To develop and oversee inventory, logistics, operations, and procedures in order to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency and maintain accurate levels of inventory. POSITION SUMMARY:The Inventory & Logistics Manager performs a variety of administrative and management functions including supervising the activities of the operations department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; ensuring proper and timely processing of orders, pricing and delivery of product, inventory management, rate negotiation with warehousing and trucking companies, coordination of delivery service and freight forwarders. Oversees the entire order process, in addition to supervising the customer service/orders staff, inventory management and delivery fulfillment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Supervise Operations Department staff and have thorough understanding and knowledge of the essential functions of their respective positions.• Ensure timely pickup of products from 3rd party warehouses and appropriate customer service.• Ensure timely shipping of DI orders.• Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers (wineries); maintain a positive and constructive open line of communication.• Act as a backup for the Operations Department staff in their absence; includes placing direct import orders, winery and California product purchase orders, and placing distributor, Costco and BevMo orders.• Continually monitor inventory in all 3rd party warehouses so that accurate levels are maintained; includes tracking product flow, running replenishment reports and communicating with sales teams and management regarding product pricing and programming to ensure warehouses are not overstocked and out of stock issues are avoided.• Interface with 3rd party warehouses to solve delivery and inventory issues and reconcile warehouse inventory on an ongoing basis.• Communicate with sales teams and sales managers regarding product pricing and programming.• Negotiate rates with trucking companies and warehouses. Ensure that the most cost effective delivery system is being used for all orders. Recommend new trucking companies with competitive rates.• Resolve issues and answer questions from sales team regarding the portal, order entries, inventory, product deliveries and other operations/sales related issues.• Handle sample orders for Wholesale Division and coordinate delivery; includes managing monthly budgets to ensure compliance from the sales team.• Manage the operations department to ensure high levels of productivity and efficiency, including training and providing ongoing support for staff.• Make innovative suggestions on improving the operations department and implement those changes in conjunction with upper management.• Provide leadership and direction on work assignments, coordinating efforts, providing technical guidance and reviewing work order progress.• Handle customer complaints and inquiries as needed.• Actively promote a positive atmosphere and culture through leadership, teamwork, job knowledge, work ethic and flexibility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• At least 3 years of inventory management in multiple 3rd party warehouses.• At least 3 years of distributor operations, supervisory and customer service experience, preferably in the wine industry.• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to excel at multi-tasking and working under pressure.• Strong leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and communication skills (oral and written).• Ability to think “out of the box” and to contribute innovative ideas.• Team-building skills, ability to interact professionally with customers and co-workers.• Decision-making skills, self-starter, self-disciplined and ability to work unsupervised.• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while anticipating regular change in work focus and direction.• Stress and time management skills, capable of working through schedule demands and conflicts with composure and diplomacy.• Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information relevant to the operation of the organization.• Strong knowledge of MS Office suite• College degree in Business is preferred.
