Under general supervision, read machining drawings and perform set-ups on routine operations. Perform operations such as turning, boring, and facing. Check work with precision tools such as micrometer and standard gauges. Tolerances may be very close. Check documentation. Make machine adjustments during performance of work; adjust tool offset. Grind simple tools and replace dull tools. Comply with and support company safety and quality standards. General housekeeping and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Trade School Certificate desired or equivalent on-the-job training/experience.
Experience: 2 years machinist experience
Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience/misc.: Must be able to perform shop math using decimals and fractions, understand and read blueprints and machining drawings, experience using micrometer and gauges.
Experienced forklift operator with valid certification (will assist with certification if needed)
Excellent safety record in previous jobs, keen safety awareness
