Manufacturing company seeks for Maintenance Machinist for the 2nd shift. Salary range $18.00-$20.00 per hour.
SUMMARY Will be in charge of repairing machines such as lathes, milling and automatic screw machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Plan method and sequence of work operations to rebuild and functionally check all types of precision built power machine tools such as lathes, mills and automatic screw machines. Plan, layout and fabricate replacement parts for major rebuilding of precision built machine tools where setup and operation of basic machine tools to exacting tolerances is required. Completely rebuild all types of precision built power machine tools. Disassemble machines, locate and diagnose machine defects and make necessary repairs, replace worn or broken parts and reassemble including hydraulic and pneumatic systems and controls. Fit and scrape bearings, fit and align spindles, columns, knees, tailstocks, ways and tables individually and in relation to each other. Level, scrape and flake beds and ways. Functionally check machine tools after rebuilding .to assure correct machine operations and to prove out to tolerance. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: One year certificate from college or technical school; or seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATH ABILITY: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software.
