This position will be for a 3 month assignment and will require occasional travel to site in Northern California Duties and Responsibilities Directs subordinates to gather or gathers data from multiple sources.Perform professional engineering work involving considerable independence in approach, demanding considerable degree of originality, ingenuity and judgement, and knowledge of more than one field of, or expertise in a particular field of professional engineering.Develop and maintain schedule, budget, & staffing plans.Manage work and staff to meet project deliverables.Coordination of specified tasks within the engineering discipline as well as with other disciplines..Responsible for the progress and quality of assigned tasks within the discipline area, including the supervision of engineers and graduates.Provide innovative and cost effective solutions to clients for operating problems and capacity constraints of existing facilities.Develop and maintain a quality design threshold for the discipline through use of understandable quality procedures.Ensure all work carried out conforms with agreed codes and practices, meets all requirements of the contracts specification and ensure all work is carried out within agreed schedules, budgets and procedures in safe manner.Mentor subordinates. Experience and Qualifications A recognized Degree or Diploma in an engineering or scientific discipline, from an accredited college or university. Has 15 plus years of relevant experience.PE preferredCompetent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access. Proficient in specialty engineering tools such as valve, PSV, orifice plate sizing software, INTools etc.PLC and/or DCS training will have been taken in the area of configuration and graphics.Be fully proficient with a specific control system type including both hardware and software configuration. Honeywell preferred. Field experience in refineries is required. Shall have developed Shutdown Keys and Control Narratives, and implemented same for projects. Experience with developing P&IDs.Able to work in Brownfield environment and make necessary modifications of loop from instrument installation all the way back to control room.
