2002 Marathon Apartment Trash Compactor- RJ 1835-5A
with (2) - 3 yd. Receiver Boxes
Hardly used -- made in 2002 installed in 2004 and hasn't been used for the last 2 years... Has about 4 years of real use...
Used (Working Condition)
Unit was inspected by a compactor company yearly.
Two receiver box containers are included with the compactor. Compactor comes with controls and gauges.

Applications. Ideally suited for high-rise applications such as apartment buildings, hotels, hospitals,
nursing homes and office buildings, the Marathon RJ-1835 is commonly installed in a trash room and
operated in conjunction with a chute system. Equipped with hand-feed hopper, the RJ-1835 also solves
restaurant, motel and fast food establishment refuse disposal problems where space is at a premium.
The powerful UL listed RJ-1835 effectively packs into any size front, rear or side loader compaction container.
When equipped with an optional Photoelectric Cycle Control, it’s operation is completely automatic. The unit is
activated when a LED light beam is interrupted by the presence of objects in the loading hopper and will
continue to operate until the obstruction is cleared. When the container is packed full, the system automatically
shuts down and the “Full Container Light” is activated.
Engineering. Stress engineering, combined with advanced fabrication techniques, eliminates useless
weight. The modern, functional shape of the RJ-1835 requires substantially less welding, which in return
reduces distortion and cost while maintaining structural rigidity. Structural features include 3/8” (10mm)
reinforced steel floor plate, reinforced 3/8” ram face plate, 1/4” (6mm) ram housing
and 1/4” shock plate with an optional 10 gauge (3.4 mm) steel receiving hopper.
Electric/Hydraulic Systems. Electrical components are industrial grade, including the control
box assembly which carries an Underwriters Laboratory label. The RJ-1835 is equipped with a 3 HP (3/60-
230/460 volt) Power Pack which can be mounted on the compactor body. Controls are simple to use and
include key-activated start, stop and reverse push
buttons. This unit has the same trouble-fee
hydraulic system proven by thousands of Marathon
compactors in the field.
