Personal Care and Cosmetic Company is seeking a Cosmetic Chemist to join their team. Qualified candidates should apply to Lab Support for consideration.
Summary:
Formulate new and improved personal care and cosmetic products and assist with QC analysis of pilot batches, raw materials, in-process and finished products
List of Responsibilities:
Prepare batches with new raw materials and conduct testing
Interact with suppliers to collect information needed to analyze raw materials
Prepare prototype formulation batches and test physical and chemical characteristics
Transfer formulation to production for scale-up
Supervise 1st and 2nd pilot runs and provide reformulation assistance as needed
Review procedure in formulas and make adjustments as needed
Understand Regulatory requirements for formulations
Perform stability testing and trouble shoot unstable formulas
Train junior R&D Chemists and Technicians on formulations and testing
Education/Experience/Skills:
B.S. in Chemistry or related science
Good knowledge in chemistry and formulation principles for personal care and cosmetic products
Knowledge and understanding in cGMP and GLP
4-5 yrs experience as a R&D formulator in applicable industry
Ability to grown into leadership/supervisory roles
Flexibility to work overtime or weekend hours
Knowledge of R&D and Production
Strong computer skills and interpersonal/networking/communication skills
