A company is seeking a Bilingual Japanese/English Electrical Engineer involved in design and development effort for automotive electronic components. Candidates must be able to speak, read, ad write Japanese with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years related working experience of development in automotive electronics component for OEM. -Serve as the first point of contact for clients, partner suppliers, and product development team in the company regarding the design, specifications, and testing of the products.
-Follow up and maintain timeline (progress check) with Product Development Team in the company, Manufacturing Plant, and main Local Clients.
-Conduct optimization of wiring design for the product and make proper wiring accommodation request to the vehicle wiring harness design group while interfacing with related internal and external entities.
-Create wiring specification and connectivity table as needed.
-Conduct packaging study of ECU and wire harness utilizing CATIA while interfacing with related internal and external entities.
-Prepare meeting minutes for all engineering meetings, internal, customer, partner suppliers, and the company.
-Monitor and track work progress of partner suppliers periodically and conduct design reviews to identify troubles and reflection at early stage for prevention of delivery delay and quality issues.
-Create and maintain system validation plan in cooperation with partner suppliers and the company.
-Perform system tests in accordance with validation plan.
-Report test status to the customer.
-Customer plant support during product launch period as needed.
-Provide engineering support for Manufacturing as needed.
-Keep track on technology and market trend relating to server application and Smartphone application in North America, and prepare report as necessary.
-Must speak, read, and write Japanese
-Ability to closely work with software engineers to solve issues.
-Willing to work with cross-cultural teams.
-Willing to support and work on non-electrical issues as needed such as mechanical issues to make sure on-time deliveries and quality customer support.
-Understanding of PPAP/APQP requirements.
-Proficiency with MS software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
-Ability to travel internationally.
-Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in electrical engineering or equivalent.
-Understanding of US OEM product development cycle and understands all the deliverable and documentation required.
-Depth of knowledge necessary to provide technical support to each product design with the ability to consult effectively with the product development team in the company.
-Computer literacy with Excel, PowerPoint, Project, CATIA, circuitry software, etc.
-Ability to travel internationally
-Some knowledge of automotive electronics systems is beneficial
Compensation: 60-70K, Exempt, with excellent benefits including 401K
