  • Large forging company seeks for an Ultrasonic Inspector Level I for 1st shift. Must have experience operating forklift. Pay rate $12.00-$13.00 per hour.

    SUMMARY Conducts ultrasonic tests on fabricated metallic and nonmetallic parts and products to identify discontinuities with constant supervision by performing the following duties.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. In the process of training to achieve the ability to accomplish the job functions listed below including the following: Reviews work orders, test procedure sheets, specifications and product acceptance criteria to determine test specifications. Operates Ultrasonic test equipment which includes: Set up of equipment Calibration of equipment per requirements Scanning products either by contact or immersion methods. Marks defective areas of part or product and reviews test results with Level II or Level III personnel. Evaluates results of inspection. Sets up and operates computerized inspection equipment. Uses cranes, forklifts and related tools to move heavy material in to or out of the work area. Compiles daily production reports for all hours worked, cross referencing those hours to production jobs.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school or equivalent or technical school; or one year manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, customers, and the general public.
