Electromechanical Engineer - Switches - AerospaceQualified candidates will have demonstrated experience in some aspect of Electrical & Mechanical Design preferably with an ME/EE interdisciplinary background. The individual will be multi-disciplined, provide in-depth technical expertise and serve as the lead designer in the development of RF/MW EM switch products from the conceptual phase through production. The individual will have product level system engineering experience and a good track record of interfacing with customers. The Principal Electromechanical Engineer is expected to develop and design new switch products to specification, modify the performance of existing products to meet new requirements, and to perform design work in support of manufacturing. This position is responsible for designing revisions to achieve product performance and goals, evaluating and selecting new devices for use in existing products, diagnosing problems, directing repair strategies, testing and tuning products, and documenting design and test procedures. It also performs circuit analysis and optimization using computer aided design tools, reviews customer designs, develops cost models, and participates in the development and implementation of departmental product and technology strategies. The candidate should have the ability to lead a design project by developing plans to meet project deadlines and coordinating the efforts of various support groups, to work with the senior engineer, manager, supervisor or project manager as a team member.Responsibilities:Designing, testing, alignment, and troubleshooting electromechanical coaxial and waveguide switches, as well as switch matrices from DC to 67 GHz.Build engineering prototypes of new products and designs.Evaluate and analyze prototype and production components and provide updated schematics/drawings with circuit/component modifications to improve product performance.Troubleshoot and repair RF based hardware and electro-mechanical system designs.Set up test apparatus and or automated test systems for production test.Ability to review customer specifications and evaluate product conformance.Layout of high frequency Printed Circuit Boards using PCB design softwares.Analyze and simulate RF circuits using software tools such as Microwave Office, HFSS, CST Microwave Studio.Other duties as assigned Skills & QualificationsAbility in RF circuit/logic design, layout, test, use of test equipment and evaluation in the 1 MHz to 6 GHz frequency range.Ability to debug circuits and systems quickly.Keen understanding of the physics underlying electrical, electronic, mechanical, and thermal devices.High level of attention to detail as well as trouble-shooting capability.Self-starter with leadership.Familiarity with mechanical drafting program such as AUTOCAD or SolidworksDesign for Cost of manufacturing background/experience Bachelors Degree in ME/EE interdisciplinary5 years of RF switch industry experienceIndustry experience of finalizing prototype into rugged productDOD clearance desiredMust be US Person
