SUMMARY:applies principles of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following other duties may be assigned. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarized current and projected company financial position.
Prepares monthly closing journal entries and adjustments to financial records; organizes, analyzes and completes month end financial statements; prepares monthly bank reconciliations for company and three small companies associated with our company; files payroll and sales tax returns as well as business property and statements.
Prepares fixed asset schedules, depreciation reports, annual audit schedules, and year end reports.
Coordinates with all auditors, including spreadsheets, meetings, files, etc.
Establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation or accounting and accounting manual, procedures, control procedures.
Assists when setting up any new accounting systems and baking related matters.
Handles daily cash reports and reconcilements with electronic banking requirements and reporting.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Six years or more of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment. Typically a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education. Must demonstrate completed understanding of accounting theories, concepts and principles, as well as a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, cost accounting standards.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/ or other company employees.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inferences, and fundamentals or plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs and commercial accounting software, such as MYOB. Familiar with all fundamental office equipment.
