The Assistant Controller will manage the corporate accounting, including overseeing and developing accounting staff members responsible for external audit process, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial forecasts, annual budgets.
Oversee all general accounting functions including general ledger coding, billing, payables, receivables, payroll, and special projects
Provide strong financial and personal leadership to company functional accounting areas and managing the integrity of the accounting system
Develop and implement processes and systems to improve the overall financial reporting and effectiveness of the company
Assure we are in compliance by practicing appropriate accounting policies and procedures following accounting standards
Proactively provide the members of the management team and owners with timely analysis and interpretation of financial information to enhance and facilitate company performance and profitability
Responsible for preparing cash flow projections and filing taxes
Controller will act as the liaison with bankers, insurance companies, customers, and vendors as required
Perform any other tasks or function requested by owners and President.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree(B.S. or B.A. in finance and/or accounting required) CPA highly preferred but not required.
5+ years financial experience for a mid-sized manufacturing company
Display personal and professional integrity with proven discretion in handling confidential information
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines
Strong organization and communication skills. Team orientated philosophy, and problem solving skills
Strong competence with Excel and Microsoft Office products
Creative problem solving skills with excellent critical and analytical thinking ability
Strong business acumen, with aerospace hardware industry knowledge a plus
3 to 5 years accounting experience with a minimum 2 years public accounting required
Experience working with audit schedules, costing, and Sarbanes-Oxley required
