Compass Group, the world's leading contract foodservice company, has a Great Opportunity for career development and growth here at its North America location in Los Angeles as a Senior Payroll Accountant.
Reconcile state, federal and local payroll tax accounts on a fiscal period basis.
Reconcile garnishment deductions to the general ledger.
Isolate any discrepancies that may occur per account and research root causes before the next posting period
Ensure accruals are paid properly and in a timely manner to all tax authorities in order to minimize penalties, propose and implement controls that will position us to pay taxes timely and correctly.
Ability to work and contribute to a team atmosphere
Prepare and present detailed account analysis
Responsible for researching accounting issues
Provide support documentation and investigate accounting issues
Provide process improvement recommendations
Reconcile accounts assigned
Special projects, ad hoc reporting, &/or analysis, as needed.
Publish issue logs and status reports to internal and external customers
Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
Qualifications:Bachelors Degree required; accounting or finance preferred. 2+ years experience with GL accounting. Proficient with MS Office products including Access and Excel. Knowledge of SAP HR Master Data highly desirable. Demonstrates problem solving and analytical skills. Results-driven, energetic, deadline oriented and highly resilient. Proven accomplishments in process improvement. Report data in a clear and concise manner. Ability to follow process from beginning to end. Excellent written and communication skills.Able to multitask, constantly monitoring and adjusting changing priorities Great People. Great Service. Great Results.
