Large aerospace subcontractor seeks an Account Manager for a contract to hire opportunity. SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in calculating, posting, and verifying figures to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Oversees the employees who perform clerical work in the Accounting Office. Can perform all of the tasks associated with the duties and responsibilities of the Accounting Clerks (Accounts Payable, Billing, Credit & Collection, Job Cost Verification) and Sr. Accountant.
Compiles composite reports from individual reports of subordinates required by management or government agencies.
Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
Assigns duties and examines work for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
Corrects errors and answers complaints; approves overtime, weekly timecards and vacation requests; and issues written and oral instructions.
Assists the Senior Accountant with the following tasks:
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
Establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
Assists when setting up any new accounting systems.
Supervises 4 to 6 employees in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or minimum four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
